What A week last Week. Earthquake,Hurricane,Tornado,Wind,Flooding,
and getting ready for the first day of school. Of course
Daniel gave us a cold and cough.
It all started Tuesday morning with a earthquake shaking the house,
Lucky nothing fell or broke. I don't advise taking cold
medicine before a earthquake. But that story is for another day.
Friday I went out to get some stuff before the storm. It
was crazy they were out of water, flashlights, batteries. People
were just garbing everything. Lucky we had gas in our car .
The gas station had lines and they were running out of gas.
Saturday morning the hurricane still had not hit us, so we decide
to go get hair cuts for school. Right as they are finishing up,
it start to rain. By elven o'clock that night we were having strong
winds and lots of rain. The house was shaking a little from the wind
and lucky the pump turned on and keep the basement dry.
I decide to check the weather and of course we where in a
tornado warning. It was head to a town about fifteen minutes
from our house. I was becoming a nervous wreck. Jake stayed
very calm and helped me out. The tornado never made it near us.
After that the storm got a little less strong, and we where able to
get some sleep. It rained a little on Sunday, mostly just windy.
They had canceled church. So we let the kids go out Sunday morning
to play. We only had little branch fall off the trees and no
flooding problems. Our trees look wind blow and our missing
leaves witch aren't in our yard. They blow away some where else.
On Monday they did open the schools for the first day after working
all night to gets the schools open. Jake got to work from home since
the trains were still not up and running.
Overall we are very grateful we still have power and that we are safe.
These our the pictures we took on Sunday. The white trash can we
put out to collect rain. We have a fox that likes to run
around in our back yard.
